Caitlin Swalec (she/her) is the Program Director of Heavy Industry at Global Energy Monitor where she primarily focuses on hydrogen and the iron and steel sectors. Caitlin previously worked as an air quality engineer in compliance reporting and permitting for fossil fuel fired power plants throughout the United States. She also worked as a wind farm planner and analyst for Fraunhofer IWES and as a communications specialist for the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis.
Caitlin holds a bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and a master’s degree from UC Santa Barbara’s Bren School of Environmental Science & Management where she now teaches a graduate-level course on carbon accounting and greenhouse gas reporting.
