Global Energy Monitor

The Global Coal Terminals Tracker (GCTT) provides a worldwide dataset of import, export, and domestic coal terminals. The tracker provides asset-level details on coal terminal ownership, geolocation, development stage and status, capacity, coal source, and more. The tracker’s interactive map shows the locations of coal terminals and the data is also available in a table format. Both the map and table provide menu-based data filtering options. The map also has the option to view Global Coal Plant Tracker data, Global Coal Mine Tracker data, and Global Steel Plant Tracker data alongside the terminals data to provide a bigger picture of coal infrastructure around the world.

Each coal terminal is linked to its own separate factsheet on GEM.wiki that provides references and further background, including news about project financing, civil society opposition, related coal plants, steel plants, and mines, and other updates. The tracker data was last updated in December 2021.
